The Glitter Guild goes to GenCon!

pariscataan

Big exciting things happening in the next few months! I just got done with Belmont Burlesque’s final Playground Theater shows in time to gear up for my next project – The Glitter Guild! We’re bringing two shows to GenCon, the largest gaming convention in the US, in August. Want to help a girl out? Take a peek at our Kickstarter fundraiser here . Every little bit helps – even $1. We’ve got some super cool stuff over there for donor incentives as well.

You can also follow all the updates on our Facebook page or register for either of the Glitter Guild events at the official GenCon registration page.

Happy Halloween!

pungpung

The Grim Reaper Peep Show last night was super fun!  I got to do a vampire version of Lady Pung Pung which is in keeping with my tradition of giving a regular Paris Green solo a Halloween flavor.  Last year was a zombified version of my gun number.  There were some truly great acts including Ray Gunn’s scarecrow pole dance and Viva La Muerte‘s Cthulu striptease.  It’s fucking Cthulu, people.  How can you not like that?

November is a big month for rehearsals – BBR is gearing up for our special holiday shows and the revival of Hot & Heavy’s Pink Floyd tribute show starts up tomorrow night.  I’ll be back with the gun act in a few weeks at Vaudezilla’s Lincoln Fair show, so keep an eye out for exploding confetti in your future.

Also, applications are going live very, very soon for the Windy City Burlesque Fest… can’t wait to see the folks who submit this year!  We’ve already got a number of great performers booked as headliners and featured performers including Lux La Croix, Michelle L’Amour, Kitten de Ville, Penny Starr, Jr., Coco Lectic, Kellita of Hot Pink Feathers and Anna Fur Laxis.  Make sure to check the website for announcements and more info about this year’s Fest!

Booooooooobies

Grim Reaper

We had a great show last night at Belmont Burlesque – the Bombshells and I have a great time with all our Halloween favorites.  Our special guest for the night, Donna Touch, brought a hilarious ghost number that used two audience participants.  When your audience is extremely drunk and chatty (as ours was last night) it is sometimes very satisfying to make them do silly things.  I did have a brief moment of panic yesterday afternoon when I could find the giant lollipops we use for our anime tribute act, The Candy Man.  I never thought I’d say this, but thank God for Dollar Tree.  Your bounty of cheap candy nobody really wants to eat was my savior in a time of need.

Next up on the Halloween burlesque tour is the Grim Reaper’s Peep Show on Saturday, October 29th at the Greenhouse Theatre.  There are actually two shows going on that night, one at 11pm produced by Viva La Muerte’s Hot & Heavy Burlesque and one at midnight produced by Vaudezilla.  I’m performing in the midnight show, but I highly recommend both as there will be different acts and performers in each.  If you go to both you also get a discount on your tickets – and who doesn’t like looking at boobs while spending less money?  Hope to see you there!

Chicago Burlesque Spotlight!

Candystriper Paris

This week I spent some time with Vaudezilla’s own Red Hot Annie talking about my experiences as a burlesque performer and the Chicago community.  Annie began her Spotlight project this summer and it has been very interesting to see the similarities and differences between people in our little corner of the world.  I’m delighted to have been a part of this project – go spend a few minutes learning about me and your other favorite Windy City peelers!

Halloween Spooktacular!

badthings

Tomorrow night is the seventh annual Belmont Burlesque Halloween Spooktacular!  I am very fond of this show because it kickstarts our stretch of special holiday shows and we show off our silliness as performers.  The honor of the opening number zombie has shifted back to Naughty Natanya this year, which is fine by me – I like having my brain eaten more than eating brains.

Our special guest for the night is the lovely and talented Donna Touch from Vaudezilla Productions.  Donna is going to be appearing in several upcoming BBR shows as she gets ready for the Viva Las Vegas competition in early 2011.  She competed last year and we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she gets back to Vegas for another go at the title.

There are still some tickets left for the BBR Spooktacular, so head on over to the website and get yours now!

kisses,

Paris

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming…

Hello bunnies!

Yes, I know. I took a bit of a vacation from this website after the WCBF came and went. While I’ve been performing all around Chicago these past few months, I needed to recharge the ol’ batteries before I got back into the swing of things. One of the many new fun Paris Green projects has absolutely nothing to do with burlesque – you can now catch me weekly as a regular contributer to The Jank Cast, Chicagoland’s podcast about all things gaming. Yep, I’m one of those D&D nerds. Get out there and roll some dice!

Check out the newly updated Calendar page to see all of the great shows I’ve got coming up! I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a part of Hot & Heavy’s Burlesque Tribute to The Wall again. All I need is a new claw foot bathtub and I’m ready to rock it out.

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. It will not surprise any of you to discover I like getting dressed up in costumes. Who knew, right? You’ve got two great shows to catch the Pleasure Chest at this season: I’ll be at Belmont Burlesque’s traditional Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, October 23rd with the rest of the Bombshells and I’ll also be appearing with Hot & Heavy and Vaudezilla at the Grim Reaper’s Peep Show on Saturday, October 30th at the Greenhouse Theater. Click the links to purchase tickets online.

I hope to see you at a show!

kisses,
Paris

Sometimes I actually speak.

skokie

Hi bunnies!

Next Friday night you can see me in Vaudezilla’s new vaudeville burlesque show, “Shtick with Us!” at the Skokie Theater. I play the part of Greta, a corporate bitch that likes to run everyone’s lives. The play is generously peppered with burlesque and variety acts, including a new one from me featuring my brand spankin’ new giant green boa. Come check out the show!

Also, a big congrats to all the performers selected for our first ever Windy City Burlesque Fest!  We received a lot of applications from performers this year – it was hard to pick from everyone, especially with such a high level of talent and so many amazing acts.  Mark your calendars – the fest takes place April 15 – 18.  Tickets for shows are now on sale at the Greenhouse Theater website.  Seating for all our showcases is limited, so get yours early or miss out on the fun!

kisses and kittens,

Paris

Happiness Is…

20091030_bcj_5542

… a darkly lit stage.  New video and pics from my appearance at the October edition of Varietease Cabaret are now up in the Video and Gallery sections, respectively.

I don’t remember the lighting for the show being so dark and moody, but apparently it was.  Interesting to see how the gun act looks in shadows.  Also, I heart Brian Janes and his pics of me.
