Had a wonderful time at Blue Bayou last night – the crew of Vaudezilla always puts on a great show. I watched the festivities with Mademoiselle Jezebel SinFell, a burlesque performer from Indianapolis that was staying with Red Hot Annie. Lots of good stuff all around, including Bonny Babs and her amazing flower act. I will be gracing the bartop next week with my space girl act which will have some new, much more fantastic ray guns. Plan to stop by and I will shoot you with glitter and fabulousness.
This morning I spent some time with costume designer David Beaupre, who is making the headdress for my new Beijing Opera striptease. David is responsible for the super festive fruit hats that the Bombshells and I wear for our Jump in the Line closing number at the Belmont Burlesque Revue. Orchids, spangles and tassels will soon be firmly secured to my head. I plan to debut this new act at the Absolut Sexy Show on August 15th, so mark your calendars – it’s a free show with $3 Absolut cocktails (cheap and delicious, the best kind of drinks!)
Tonight I am off to No Exit (6970 N. Glenwood) for another weekend’s worth of The New American Review. Along with fabulous burlesque by myself, Coo d’Twat, Donna Touch, Lady Jack, Dizzy Lizzy Delicious, Lula Houp-Garou and Pearl Pistol, there are fire eaters, contortionists and magic acts from Duo Rose and the Flying Cat Circus.
